Vacuum furnace brazing is a metal joining process that takes place in a brazing chamber (vacuum furnace) below atmospheric pressure. Vacuum brazing of your aluminum and alloy materials provides parts free of oxides, oils, and other contaminants and a uniform heating and cooling process, ensuring stability, strength and durability.
Vacuum furnace brazing allows parts to seal evenly providing minimum leakage down to 10 to the negative 7, creating a bond that is leak-proof, non-corrosive, and much stronger than other joining methods. The strict control of contaminants through the vacuum brazing process is ideal for oxidation-sensitive alloys and metals such as those used in the medical and aerospace industries.
A significant attribute and benefit of the vacuum furnace brazing process is its ability to thoroughly clean the part and leave it bright, polished and uncontaminated. This is key when vacuum brazing medical instruments and devices.
Metal Craft offers aluminum vacuum furnace brazing services: Annealing & Heat-treating of aluminum, Heat sinks and Custom brazing projects and prototype services.
We meet many specs including: AWSC 3.7, MIL-B-7883, and AMS 2770.
